Cashmere Pashminas

From the Designer

This design is inspired by the Camellia tree that bloomed in my old backyard in Oakland, CA. The camellia is one of the few flowers to bloom in the fall, but this cashmere pashmina shawl is perfect for all seasons. Pair it with a sundress to move seamlessly between day and night on a long summer outing, or dress up that simple black dress for a night out during the fall or spring.

This pashmina shawl is a blend of 80% cashmere pashmina wool and 20% silk for a luxurious feel, ultra lightweight and subtle sheen that doesn’t pill. Plus, it is 100% handmade in Nepal, meaning the wool is hand spun, hand woven, and hand dyed and the fabric is screen printed by hand.

Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool that comes from a special breed of goat, indigenous to the high altitudes of the Himalayan Mountains. Cashmere from Nepalese pashmina wool is the highest quality that exists due to the conditions that mountain goats have adapted to over centuries. In order to survive the harsh, cold climate, the mountain goats have developed exceptionally warm and light fiber that is six times finer than a human hair, and creates the most luxurious fabric in the world.
